STEMing Abroad Travel Scholarship
A Trip Abroad Changed Our Lives, It Could Change Yours Too...
One of the most meaningful educational experiences is studying abroad and having meaningful experiences in other cultures. We want to enable you to have this experience in your college journey through the STEMing Abroad Travel Scholarship. This scholarship is meant for undergraduate students studying a STEM-related field that are also approved for a study abroad program through their university. One recipient will receive $1,000 USD to help finance their study abroad trip.
Eligibility Requirements
Undergraduate enrollment at a higher education institution in the United States (currently enrolled in community college or a 4-year university).
Must be pursuing a STEM major.
Be accepted into a study abroad program offered through your academic institution:
Students studying abroad within 6 months before the scholarship application deadline are still eligible to apply.
Students studying abroad at any point after the deadline are welcome to apply, as long as they can show proof of acceptance into a study abroad program.
GPA must be at 3.5 or higher.
How to Apply
Write a letter stating:
Why do you want to receive this award?
How does traveling abroad impact you?
What STEM field are you pursuing an education in?
Why did you choose to study STEM?
Provide a recent transcript that shows enrollment in STEM-related courses along with a cumulative GPA.
Clear proof of study abroad program acceptance/enrollment.
Award
$1,000 USD will be awarded to one selected candidate.
How Recipient Will Be Chosen
The recipient will be chosen based on meeting the eligibility requirements as well as their reasons for pursuing a STEM degree and participating in a study abroad program as described in their application letter.
Deadline & Award Date
This is a bi-annual scholarship (Spring & Fall). The next deadline to apply is Tuesday, October 31st, 2024. Recipient will be notified and awarded by November 30th, 2024.
